Ebony Kurtek - Psychology Student (Drummoyne)

Ebony is a compassionate and dedicated volunteer with the Kalm Kingdom school program, with a strong passion for supporting children and young people. She has experience working with children, particularly those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Ebony is currently working toward provisional registration as a psychologist, expected in 2026. She is especially committed to helping children with neurodiverse backgrounds navigate middle childhood and adolescence, develop personal independence, and build essential life skills. Ebony is dedicated to supporting both children and their families in reaching their goals.
Ebony also has a keen interest in working with adolescents, particularly those affected by interpersonal trauma such as divorce, separation, domestic violence, bereavement, or bullying. Additionally, she is drawn to supporting young adults experiencing depression, mood or personality changes, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Eager to continue her professional development, Ebony is excited to explore evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She looks forward to developing her skills in these areas.
Known for her warm, patient, and empathetic approach, Ebony fosters a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. She has a strong interest in the field of Clinical Psychology and plans to pursue an Area of Practice Endorsement (AoPE) in this area in the future.
