Adult DBT Skills Group
What to Expect?
The Adult DBT Skills Group is led by Jessica Rice, Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist.
Two psychologists facilitate each session, with specialist psychiatric input provided during two of the ten sessions. This small-group program offers evidence-based strategies in an engaging format.
Sessions are structured to include 60 minutes of skill-building, a short break, and another 60 minutes of interactive learning – because we believe in balancing structure with comfort. Please allow a little over two hours for each session. Feel free to bring snacks to help you feel at ease!

Who Can Join?
All prospective participants complete an initial screening to determine whether the group is appropriate for their individual needs.
Why Choose This Program?
- Gain practical skills to manage emotions, tolerate distress and improve relationships.
- Participate in a small, supportive group setting for personalised attention.
- Access learning materials throughout the program for you to keep.
- No pressure. Just learning in a relaxed environment.
Important To Know
- Commitment matters. This is a closed 10-week group, and each participant’s place is reserved for the full program. No make-up sessions are available.
- Personal disclosures are kept to a minimum to support group safety and maximise learning. This is a skills-focused group, and participants are not expected to share detailed personal histories or experiences.
- Participants are expected to respect the privacy of other group members and not share identifying information outside the group. However, absolute confidentiality by other participants cannot be guaranteed in a group setting.
- Group discussions may include sensitive topics, strong emotions or experiences that some participants find challenging. Facilitators work to maintain a respectful and supportive environment, and suitability is considered carefully during screening.
- Availability is limited. Apply early by completing the intake form below to register your interest.
Fees and Payment
The program fee is payable for the complete 10-week program rather than on a session-by-session basis.
Once a participant has completed screening and been offered a place:
- 50% of the total program fee is payable when the place is accepted.
- The remaining 50% will be automatically charged 14 days before the first session.
- If a place is accepted within 14 days of the starting date, the full program fee is payable when booking.
- The full program fee must be paid before the first session.
By accepting a place and making the initial payment, the participant authorises Logic Lounge to charge the remaining balance to the nominated payment method.
If the remaining balance cannot be processed and is not paid, the participant’s place may be offered to someone on the waiting list.
Because this is a small, closed group, places cannot usually be filled after the program begins. Missed sessions or withdrawal after commencement do not ordinarily attract a refund, credit or transfer, except where required by law. Complete payment and cancellation terms will be provided before payment is taken.
Medicare Rebates
Eligible participants may be able to claim a Medicare rebate under Better Access for sessions delivered by Jessica Rice as the eligible Clinical Psychologist.
- Program: Adult DBT Skills Group
- Format: 10 weekly group sessions
- Therapy time: Two hours of group psychological therapy per session, plus a short break
- Provider: Clinical Psychologist
- Medicare item: 80024
- Standard Medicare rebate: $70.05 per attended session
- Potential standard rebate across 10 attended sessions: $700.50
These amounts are current from 1 July 2026 and may change.
When Will Medicare Rebates Be Paid?
Although the program fee is paid before the program begins, Medicare claims can only be made after an eligible session has been delivered and attended.
After each attended session:
- The session will be recorded and receipted as paid.
- Where online claiming is available, Logic Lounge will submit the Medicare claim.
- Otherwise, a paid receipt will be provided so the participant can claim through Medicare.
- Medicare will pay any eligible rebate into the participant’s registered bank account.
Medicare claims will therefore be processed one session at a time. A Medicare rebate cannot be claimed for a missed session.
Eligible participants may claim up to 10 group therapy mental health treatment services per calendar year. These group services are separate from the participant’s individual Better Access services.
Could My Rebate Be Higher Through the Medicare Safety Net?
The $70.05 amount shown above is the standard Medicare rebate.
Participants who have reached an Extended Medicare Safety Net threshold may receive a higher rebate. The amount is calculated by Medicare and depends on the participant’s individual or family Safety Net position, the fee charged, their out-of-pocket cost and the applicable Medicare item cap.
Participants can check their Safety Net balance through their Medicare online account linked to myGov.
Individuals without dependants are tracked automatically. Couples and families must register as a Medicare Safety Net family to combine their eligible expenses, even when everyone is listed on the same Medicare card.
Medicare Safety Net thresholds apply from 1 January to 31 December and reset at the beginning of each calendar year. If the program continues across 1 January, a higher Safety Net rebate may not continue into the new calendar year.
Logic Lounge cannot determine or guarantee an individual participant’s Medicare or Safety Net rebate. Current information is available through Services Australia.
