Adolescent DBT Skills Group
What to Expect?
Each session includes two 45–60 minute blocks of interactive skills learning, with a short break in between. We believe learning works best when people feel comfortable, so you’re welcome to bring snacks and anything else that helps you feel at ease.

Who Can Join?
The group may be suitable for young people who would benefit from practical DBT skills, whether or not they have a formal mental health diagnosis. Suitability is considered individually through our screening process.
All prospective participants complete an initial screening to determine whether the group is appropriate for their individual needs.
Why Choose This Program?
- Gain practical skills to manage emotions, tolerate distress, and improve relationships.
- Participate in a small, supportive group setting for personalised attention.
- Access learning materials throughout the program for you to keep.
- No pressure. Just learning in a relaxed environment.
Important to Know
- Commitment matters. This is a closed 10-week group, and each young person’s place is reserved for the full program. No make-up sessions are available.
- Personal disclosures are kept to a minimum to support group safety and maximise learning. Participants are not expected to share detailed personal histories or experiences.
- Participants are expected to respect the privacy of other group members and not share identifying information outside the group. However, absolute confidentiality by other participants cannot be guaranteed in a group setting.
- Group discussions may include sensitive topics, strong emotions or experiences that some participants find challenging. Facilitators work to maintain a respectful and supportive environment, and suitability is considered carefully during screening.
- Availability is limited. Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply early by completing the intake form below.
Fees and Payment
The program fee is payable for the complete 10-week program rather than on a session-by-session basis.
Once the young person has completed screening and been offered a place:
- 50% of the total program fee is payable when the place is accepted.
- The remaining 50% will be automatically charged 14 days before the first session.
- If a place is accepted within 14 days of the starting date, the full program fee is payable when booking.
- The full program fee must be paid before the first session.
By accepting the place and making the initial payment, the parent, guardian or person responsible for payment authorises Logic Lounge to charge the remaining balance to the nominated payment method.
If the remaining balance cannot be processed and is not paid, the young person’s place may be offered to someone on the waiting list.
Because this is a small, closed group, places cannot usually be filled after the program begins. Missed sessions or withdrawal after commencement do not ordinarily attract a refund, credit or transfer, except where required by law. Complete payment and cancellation terms will be provided before payment is taken.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates are not currently available for the Adolescent DBT Skills Group because the program is led and delivered by Provisional Psychologists. However, they will both be regsitered soon and this will alter the rebates applicable – this is expected to occur before the commencement of the program in October 2026.
Under current Better Access requirements, psychological services must be delivered by an eligible psychologist holding general registration, or by an eligible Clinical Psychologist, for a Medicare rebate to be payable. Supervision by another psychologist does not make a service delivered by a Provisional Psychologist eligible for a Medicare rebate.
This means:
- A Mental Health Treatment Plan or referral will not create a Medicare rebate for this program under the current facilitation arrangement.
- The program fee is an out-of-pocket cost.
- Program fees and sessions will not contribute towards a Medicare Safety Net threshold.
- Families do not need to obtain a Better Access referral specifically for this group.
If the clinicians delivering the program or Medicare eligibility arrangements change in the future, Logic Lounge will update this information before places are offered.
Families with private health insurance may wish to contact their insurer directly to ask whether any benefits are available. Coverage depends entirely on the individual policy and cannot be guaranteed by Logic Lounge.
